Hemiplegia – Paralysis on One Side of the Body, Naturally Treatable
What is Hemiplegia?
Hemiplegia, called Pakshaghata in Ayurveda, is a condition characterized by paralysis or severe weakness affecting one side of the body, including the face, arm, and leg. It is often caused by neurological damage due to stroke, injury, or chronic Vata imbalance.
In Ayurveda, Pakshaghata occurs due to aggravated Vata dosha, which disrupts the flow of energy and nerve impulses, leading to muscle weakness, stiffness, and impaired movement.
Symptoms of Hemiplegia
Common symptoms include:
Weakness or paralysis on one side of the body
Difficulty in walking or standing
Drooping of the face or eyelid on the affected side
Impaired hand or arm function
Slurred speech or difficulty swallowing in some cases
Muscle stiffness or spasticity
Causes and Risk Factors
Hemiplegia may be caused by:
Stroke or brain injury
Neurological disorders affecting the brain or spinal cord
Chronic Vata imbalance according to Ayurveda
Poor circulation or blood flow
Sedentary lifestyle and physical inactivity
Ayurveda explains that aggravated Vata dosha blocks the flow of energy in nerves and muscles, causing weakness or paralysis on one side of the body.
